Welcome to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society!
'PETS OF THE MONTH'
February Cat of the Month is Loretta
Loretta is a 10 month old female. She was a stray who was dumped in the woods. This black beauty is such a charming little kitten. She is very accommodating but was a little skeptical of the camera hence the scowl. This babe is going to make a great companion.
Our February Dog of the month is Slick!
Slick is a 2 year old male Anatolian Shepherd mix. This guy is housebroken. He is just as friendly as can be and very well behaved. He is going to make some family a great dog. Could that be you.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS
There are a lot of Branson area donors to our Shelter, and recipients of Paw Prints.
If anyone in the Branson area is willing to volunteer a little time now and then for fundraising activities, please call the Shelter at (417) 272-8113 and leave a message for Carolyn to let her know. You will get a call back
INTAKE and ADOPTION FEES
Many people decline to pay the $20 intake fee for animals. It is not much, just $20, but it does help towards all the expenses we have for animals before they are able to go to their forever homes. Adoption fees for adult dogs is $100, puppies $125 and cats $85.
Some animals come to us with veterinary records showing they have been spay/neutered and are up-to-date on Rabies and other shots. However, this is not the norm so we have to give dogs Rabies shots and all the other shots dogs need, heartworm treatment/preventative, plus spay/neuter. The same for cats. The cost of all this for an animal that has no record showing they are up-to-date can be around $180-$250+ per animal, depending on their age and if they are healthy when they come in – not to mention vet bills, food and the cost of kennel workers to clean and care for them for as long as we have them.
All our money comes from donations, and we have some wonderful generous supporters but never enough, so, if you need to drop off animals with us, please pay the Intake Fee if at all possible. Every little bit helps.
